Southey Minor Baseball Club Code of Conduct Policy 

Effective Date: January 1, 2025 

Purpose 

This Code of Conduct provides guidelines for the behavior and expectations of players, coaches, parents, and spectators associated with Southey Minor Baseball Club. It aims to promote a positive, respectful, and sportsmanlike environment that aligns with the values of Baseball Regina and Baseball Saskatchewan. 

General Principles 

Respect: Show respect to all players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and spectators at all times. 

Integrity: Conduct oneself with integrity and adhere to the rules and spirit of the game. 

Sportsmanship: Emphasize the importance of good sportsmanship, regardless of the outcome of the game. 

Conduct Expectations 

For Players 

Display respect towards teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials. 

Participate in practices and games with a positive attitude. 

Adhere to team rules and guidelines set forth by the coaching staff. 

Exhibit good sportsmanship by congratulating opponents and acknowledging good plays. 

Avoid any form of harassment or bullying, including language or actions that may be harmful to others. 

For Coaches 

Model and promote respectful behavior at all times. 

Provide a positive learning environment and foster the development of all players. 

Communicate openly and constructively with players and parents. 

Ensure that games and practices are conducted in accordance with the rules of Baseball Regina and Baseball Saskatchewan. 

Avoid any negative comments towards players, officials, or opposing teams. 

For Parents and Spectators 

Support your child and their teammates positively, regardless of the outcome of the game. 

Respect the decisions made by game officials and avoid confrontations with them. 

Refrain from using abusive language or behavior at the field. 

Encourage good sportsmanship among players and fellow spectators. 

Promote a positive atmosphere that enhances the experience for all participants. 

Disciplinary Action 

Any violations of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action. Possible actions may include: 

  • Verbal warning 
  • Written warning 
  • Suspension from participation in club activities (including practices, games, and events) 
  • Expulsion from the club 

The severity of the disciplinary action will depend on the nature and frequency of the violation. 

Reporting Violations 

Any individual who witnesses or experiences a violation of this Code of Conduct is encouraged to report the incident The Southey Minor Baseball Board of Directors. All reports will be treated confidentially and investigated promptly.   

Agreement 

By participating in Southey Minor Baseball, all players, coaches, parents, and spectators agree to adhere to this Code of Conduct. We are dedicated to fostering a supportive and positive environment for all involved in our club.
