In the interest of keeping Minor Ball in the area thriving, Southey Minor Ball and Cupar Minor Ball have signed a partnership agreement.
With this agreement both towns will still run their Learn-to-play programs for children age 9 and under.
For any age division above 9U, Southey Minor Ball will facilitate and oversee the Baseball teams, registered in the Baseball Regina league with Baseball Sask as the governing body. Cupar Minor Ball will facilitate and oversee the Softball teams, registered in the Regina Minor Softball League with Softball Sask as the governing body.
Anyone who makes a higher level team than is offered in Cupar/Southey or is looking to play in a different community for any reason must remember to request a release. Release/Zone Transfer forms can be found on the Softball Sask or Baseball Sask website then send to either Cupar Minor Ball for Softball or Southey Minor Ball for Baseball.
As both towns continue to grow we need to think of the kids, the time it takes for the volunteers to organize everything as well as the facilities that we have to accommodate all the teams. This agreement's goal is to help unite the communities and help with future growth of both programs.
