Two years ago, Southey and Cupar minor ball boards signed a working agreement to operate ball together to ensure enough players for both softball and baseball. That agreement has expired BUT we know we are better together so we have decided to enhance our partnership even further!
The Southey and Cupar Minor Ball Boards have merged into one board with members from both communities!
Working as one board our website and most communication will come from our existing Southey Minor Ball Website, email and Facebook page. Baseball teams will still be the Southey Eagle's and Softball teams will still be Cupar Canucks. This is because in the past both communities have invested in jersey's for the teams and these jerseys are still in good shape.
What else does this mean? Well, it means stability for both communities for both softball and baseball for the future. It means shared diamonds for softball and baseball to be played in both communities. It means one central online place to go to register your child for baseball and softball - you no longer have to wonder if you register in Southey or Cupar or where.
A couple other operational things you should know - both communities will retain their legacy bank accounts. A new bank account will be created with seed money from both clubs. Scheduling will take place for diamonds in both communities with rentals in Earl Grey, if and when needed. Each community will retain their own learn to play programs (should they have enough players).
Registration will be opening within the next week(ish) so watch this page and your email for all the details! We are planning for teams in every age group for baseball and U9 through U15 for softball with learn to play in each community.
We are so excited to continue our partnership with our friends down the road! We look forward to the season and many games of softball and baseball to watch in both communities.
